Miss Allison (Studio Director) was born and raised in Cudahy who trained in ballet, jazz and tap at Encore Dance Studio for 15 years and learned the value of a supportive studio community at a young age. In high school she served as an assistant dance instructor for younger students and was a member of the Cudahy Varsity Pom team. While attending UW-Madison, Miss Allison continued her training in ballet and took classes at TapIt.
Miss Allison earned scholarships to attend regional dance conventions and her dance training propelled her to win Miss Polish Fest and Miss Milwaukee titles, both of which resulted in Miss Allison being named as a Top 10 finalist at the Miss Wisconsin pageant in 1997 and 1998.
After graduating college with a degree in Molecular Biology, Miss Allison returned home and successfully balanced her blossoming career with a new role as varsity head coach at Cudahy High School. Under her direction, the award-winning pom team traveled to the WACPC State competition multiple times over ten years. As the sport was rapidly evolving to include other styles of dance, Miss Allison positioned Cudahy’s team for continued success, including expanding the feeder program from one middle school team to three teams that spanned K4 through middle school.
While coaching, Miss Allison elevated the caliber of traditional jazz and ballet technique at every level of the pom program. However, as her childhood studio was no longer around, she recognized a lack of quality instruction to support dancers which also complimented their ability and suited their availability. Only recreational dance classes and large competitive studios were available.
Miss Allison identified an opportunity to expand options in the South Shore and was committed to creating a similar culture to that which provided the foundation for her own love of dance. Showcase Dance Studio opened its doors in 2007 and has welcomed hundreds of students into its dance family.
Miss Allison believes that proper dance training is a process and there is always something more to learn. She invests a significant amount of time researching new teaching techniques and opportunities to enhance her students' experiences. Some of her most rewarding professional development engagements have included Broadway Dance Center (New York); Danceworks (Milwaukee); multiple dance conventions (Chicago); CLI Studios; and Acrobatic Arts where she earned an instruction certification.
In addition to serving as studio director, teaching multiple jazz and tap classes, and coordinating the Showcase Dance Studio production group, Miss Allison is a successful Sr. Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance at a respected medical device company based in Waukesha.
